I’ve seen how each season work it’s miracle on this place. How the almost half year long monsoons fill these fields with water, and how it make small grass to sprout from the barren soil. I’ve seen the farmers sowing these fields with faces filled with determination, folk songs dancing on their lips. I’ve seen how, by the end of the second monsoon, it becomes all green and fills your mind with happiness and hope. I’ve seen the rejoice of farmers when it blossoms. Winter comes, to fill this savannah with mist in the early mornings. I’ve seen people, farmers and workers walking through this misty fields, and I’ve endured that chill through my spine, by just watching them. I’ve seen the crops ripen, as the summer approach. I’ve felt their enthusiasm, to reap their hard work and feed the empty breadbaskets. Not just them, but the entire state of Kerala depend on them one way or another to fill the tummies.
~ Kerala. A blessed land lies between the mounted Western ghats and the roaring Arabian sea. It’s called God’s own Country for a reason. This is my humble try to capture the scenic beauty I got to enjoy during my frequent train journeys.
I love travelling, especially by train. I love every small thing related to it. Be it the howl of the train, or the whistle of the wind when it speeds, I prefer to stand or sit by the door (this is possible only in India, other countries have automatic doors for the trains which closes before the train starts). There you get to enjoy the most. But sometimes, police interference compels me to be satisfied with the window seat.
All the pictures are taken from train, including the featured image during different journeys in different seasons. ~
~ All these pictures including featured image are taken by myself on my Motorola Moto E (first gen) mobile camera (5 MP ), and thus the clarity and resolution issues. The only advantage being, it’ll save your data by a small fraction. 😉 ~
